Saudi 9-Year-Old Abdulmohsen Speaks on Oceans at COP30

motivated by his interest in languages and cultures, improved his English over one year at 51Talk. Nominated through a collaboration with the Ministry of Education, he stood out among more than 700 students, advanced to the top 20 finalists, and ultimately won first place in the school competition. Representing Saudi Arabia at the United Nations, he confidently shared his ideas on environmental and wildlife protection, impressing both peers and adults.

At COP30, Abdulmohsen delivered an urgent message about the silent crisis facing our oceans due to warming, pollution, and overfishing. He highlighted the critically endangered Vaquita dolphin as a warning, and cited Saudi Arabia’s efforts to protect Red Sea coral reefs as a source of global hope. He called for collective action, emphasizing that environmental protection must cross borders.
