\u201cBefore 51Talk, Defne used to say, \u2018Ugh! I have English class tomorrow!\u2019 Sometimes, she even felt anxious about it. When we first started 51Talk lessons, she didn\u2019t have the courage to speak English, and she always wanted me to stay with her. These words belong to Defne\u2019s mother, Nazl\u0131. In this short time, we can see how English has transformed from a source of anxiety into a source of happiness for Defne\u2014something very important during her youth, when confidence and learning habits are still forming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Journey that Started with Anxiety<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before starting 51Talk, Defne didn\u2019t enjoy English class. She was hesitant to answer the teacher\u2019s questions and often remained silent. Like many children in their youth, she felt shy and unsure of herself.
Nazl\u0131 recalls:
\u201cAt first, she didn\u2019t want to speak at all because she was shy and embarrassed. She wanted me to be with her whenever she was supposed to answer the teacher\u2019s questions, so I could help her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regular lesson schedule and progress reports from 51Talk have been very reassuring for the family:

Defne’s biggest achievement has been learning not to fear English lessons. “Before, she used to complain, ‘I have English class tomorrow, I don’t understand anything, why am I taking this lesson?’After starting 51Talk, she now realizes that she can understand and do the work in her school English class.
